DiaPraxis:

Awakening the Spirit of Creative Collaboration

Bio

As a consultant, I work with small businesses, non-profit organizations and local government agencies. I also work on community-building projects, helping facilitate community dialogue on difficult issues.

My professional background includes organization development, social work, and education. In addition to my consulting work, I have worked at various times as a teacher, a translator and a writer of educational materials; also as a case manager, a social worker, and a psychotherapist.

I enjoy many varieties of learning, including both experiential and academic, which has inspired me to earn a few master's degrees over the years: an M.A. in Multicutural Education from University of San Francisco, an M.A. in Psychology from the Organization Development program at Sonoma State University, and a Master's in Social Work (MSW) from Springfield College.

My appreciation for multiple perspectives has been influenced by my own life experiences. I was born in Peru and moved to the United States as a child. This gave me the opportunity to become bilingual and bicultural.

For several years, I worked for an education reform non-profit that helped teachers learn to facilitate constructivist dialogue in the classroom, for both academic learning and socio-emotional learning. The challenges of “taking it to scale” deepened my interest in whole-systems change, and has been a significant factor in my career path.

After many years of living and working in the San Francisco Bay Area, I moved East for family reasons. I now live with my husband in the Berkshires, in Massachussetts.
